So, to not dive into too much detail. Back when I was in my late 20s I had cancer, and a section of colon removed. This causes me to need to have more "frequent" restroom needs in the 90-120 mins after eating a full meal. Once I am running solo this won't be too hard to plan out and hit the rest stops along the way. But my concern is during the 8 weeks of "Training/Mentor" time before that happens. Any suggestions or concerns you guys might see with this issue? Other than being sure the recruiter, DM, and Mentor are aware of it.

You tell the trainer that the trip planning will revolve around your necessary stops. Its no ifs buts or maybes. Its what you live with.
There will be issues meeting appt times possibly and so forth. You are going to lose hours every 24 which will imperil service to the customers who depend on that truck being there.
How many stops after eating per day do you require? 3 one hour stops or more every 24 will cut into the ability to get the rig down the road.FerrissWheel Thanks this. -
well it's not "long" stops. As business is typically done within 5 min or less. It's just that I'll need to make the stop. So say I had to stop 2-3 times in that 2 hours. We'd be losing 15 min plus the pull in pull out time. Imodium does help with it, though.

I like kaeopectate myself. But depend on a steady type of foods every day to be consistent. Any time you eat strange foods, your bacterial sometimes need a few days to readapt to breaking down the waste. Which is why you sometimes require that immodium or other.
A second thought about this is water. If you carry a case of bottled retail water with you by the quart you know you can avoid local water issues served at the dinner table if it is not treated. It can make you sick for a little while too that way.austinmike and FerrissWheel Thank this. -
yeah part of my thinking is doing the eating either early/late. So it is either during the 10 hours, or before heading on the road. That way it's not an issue. On the Imodium. I used to use it. I typically just take 1 pill 3 times a day. It slows it down to more "normal" output. Shall we say. lol But I think mostly it will have to be me learning when/what to eat. To make the best time on the road and not impact my mentor. Solo I can play it by ear based on the load I am carrying.

Same boat. Lost large part of colon and small intestine. When I was in the truck over the road I planned my meals to coordinate with deliveries so I could use bathrooms.
FerrissWheel and Wasted Thyme Thank this. -
@mpd240 Thank you. Yeah. I am thinking that is how I am gonna have to try and roll. Figure out when I am gonna be stopping for a pick-up/delivery or my 10hr break. Then eat accordingly. Gonna start back on my old Imodium regiment like I used to do, too. To see how that starts helping things. With minimal medicine and careful planning I think I will be ok. But want to be sure that the trainer/mentor understands why my eating habits are what they are. Plus be sure he has ear plugs cuz I snore. Maybe I'll gift him those. lol
FerrissWheel Thanks this.
