I’ve had guys drive for me that had the Hotshot dream wander off and do it for a year or so and then always back looking for a job .
I have never seen a successful hotshot driver that has been in business longer than two years or so! It may just be the area I am in!

Yes I believe the area you live in will affect the success of a hotshot endeavor.

Many years back I saw a guy picking up furniture at one of my stops with a horse trailer. Couldn't fit that much in, but he didn't have those pesky expenses I have or worry about a log book or scales.

Stay legal. Pay insurance, maintain truck, pass inspections, work hard. Develop relationships with people needing to ship their freight. Treat people and every load with all the respect they deserve. Been doing this since 2008.

We’re still rocking and rolling with no current plans of going back to semi trucks.

The Delco’s are holding up good, no complaints . We’d still be buying the LoadTrail trailers if their production hadn’t slowed down. The LoadTrail was a good trailer also.

If you’re thinking about buying one, pm me before you do. I’ll give you a few tips on what to check for, and what to watch out for.
