I got my start in trucking at Prime. Didn't have the money for CDL classes. They paid the highest .cpm out of my options and I'd heard their training was thorough. I did two years with them before moving on, averaged 60k yearly gross.
All the megas are the same for the most part. You get out of it what you put into it. All the starter companies have their own sections in the forums. Before you sign on with any of them, take a gander, read, read, and read some more so you can make an educated decision on what's the best path for you. Keep your nose clean that first year, don't be a problem driver, ask questions if you're unsure, and build that year of experience. So many doors will open for you after that.

I can tell you something for a 21 year retired veteran that is currently employed in law enforcement 13 years he or she is making more than me a year if that is he or she first year of earnings. I can tell you something your not going to get rich in law enforcement, teaching, firefighter, or employed as a EMT/Nurse.

something to keep in mind when comparing the income of a Prime driver with these other occupations is what it works out to on an hourly basis. Based on 50 weeks worked in a year that $56k is $1120 per week. The Prime driver probably puts in at least 80 hrs per week to earn it, which is about $14 per hour. The law enforcement officers, teachers and nurses that I know all make considerably more than that on an hourly basis.

If you want to make money with Prime, get hired on as one of their lawyers who are fighting hard against paying drivers.

I worked for prime for almost 2 years as a lease OP and had a good experience overall. Pay was good. Learned alot about business mgmt. Only company I've worked for so nothing really to compare to but the real stinger is the $84,000 I payed in truck payments on a truck that I currently don't own. Hurts to even think about. Get in, get your exp, and get out. Or stay and become a trainer. The trainers at prime make $$$.

If I'm hauling food for starving orphans then the faster trucks must be hauling the violins reading around it seems there's no shortage of them.

Ok, this goes back to around 09 I think, I owned my truck at the time, and was at a rest area in Kansas “if memory serves”. Had my boxer/pit mix when a driver from Prime walked up with another boxer/pit mix, we started talking and asked me about the company I was leased onto , he told me he leased his truck from Prime and clears $5k a week, clears! Not grosses! So, I say to him “if you can prove to me, that you clear that kind of money in a lease truck, I call Prime, use you as my recruiter so you can get the referral, he declined! Why? If someone was making that kind of money, and being truthful , won’t prove it? You got yo ask yourself this? If it was true? There would be a waiting list to get a job there years long! But this is JMO

It is all bull ####, at prime website they clearly tell and let anyone, anyone who comes to prime that average driver gets 1100 per week. And those prime drivers live in fear, because i still remember when i was at orientation, they threatened right there straight to our faces - if you say anything bad about prime, we will find you and you will face the consequences, that what they tell to anyone who comes to prime.Looks and sounds like total bandits, money wise etc .
Prime drivers are liars and full of ####, so many those fairy tales i make 10k a week, i make 6k a weeks.
Did you notice the way are prime drivers? Low energy, empty eyes, not happy at all, not talkative it tells only one thing they are screwed indefinitely. Thats why they take students, they need game keep on going. Good company though, but wont make any money there as a driver.
