So lots and lots of threads here. Too much info and my brain is hurting. What I am looking for is a good CDL school that I don't have to pay up front for and I can match up with Freymiller Tuition Reimbursement. Obviously when you google CDL school Tampa you get Roadmaster and Tampa Truck. I've seen good and bad on both and why. I was thinking getting the 3 week done and over, that way I can get to OKC and start earning money. Though that will leave me w/o income for those 3 weeks so I have to bank enough for bills. The other option I saw is some have an 8 weekend course. Any ideas/thoughts? I am making this jump. I just can't leave my fiance in a financial lurch while I do it.

If Freymiller is offering you an opportunity ask them which school they would want you to attend.

Looks like it depends on your funds. Save enough to tough it out 3 weeks or find out the hours for the 3 week course and get a part time gig at night if they’re day hours.
Or bite the bullet and do the weekend course and try and save even more money while working

Mostly I am needing to reach out, at first, to Freymiller, to get a confirmed offer letter. Then match that up with one of them here. I am going to be probably doing the training in "around" 90 days. As my brother-n-law gave me a "Gummy" while I was in CO a couple of weeks ago due to help with my RLS due to me running out of my prescription. So want my "tests" to come back ok. My biggest worry about Roadmaster is that they ONLY have automatics. I am dreading that restriction on my CDL. Even though I know Freymiller has them. Worst case scenario I can try to sign on with Swift and stay there for the year. Then Go to Freymiller. I like Swift as a company. But the CPM seems lower than the .42 I'd get starting at Freymiller. Plus the miles.

As long as you can get the miles, 42 cpm dont mean a thing

I'm thinking I might end up going with Swift, at least for the first year. I'm not trusting of the "Marketed" CDL Schools here. I've put in the App with them on Friday, been getting tons of emails from their recruiter. I replied back either yesterday or today. Can't remember. Sinuses and allergy medicine has my head foggy. Explaining it would be a few months till I actually "could" do the school. As right now I am trying to get the reserve funds set a side for no work. Also told him, that while I am in Florida. I want to do their school in TX, rather than one of their "partners" here. As I want to home terminal out of OKC, OK. And my fiance would be going there ahead of myself. Not heard back since that, but still early.

I'd really prefer going with FreyMiller directly. But honestly I don't have the upfront money to pay for the schooling. Guess we'll see what happens.

Just curious, why the move? Im in the Tampa area, moved here from NYC and if I can just get used the overbearing heat in the summer, I like the pace having been slowed down in comparison to the city. BTW, have you checked out 1st Class CDL school here in Tampa?
