I ''thought'' TMC was an employee owned company.
If so then that information is relevant to ALL the other owners so the problem can be fixed. the money it cost is coming out of every bodies pocket.
And there is no reason to do ''a full'' inspection every day if you are driving dedicated equipment. IMO.buddyd157 Thanks this. -
As many jobs as you've had and been fired from because of incompetency or creating a disturbance I think you'd understand that point.WinchBarHero, 7-UP, kemosabi49 and 2 others Thank this. -
when i was first assigned my truck and trailer, i went through it as thoroughly as possible. if there was a tractor issue, i'd scoot on down the block to Penske, give them the write up and be done with it.
if there was a trailer problem, i'd call the boss, and he'd call the vendor to come on over.
then from that point on, it would be a "quick Pre-trip" and ALWAYS checking under the hood each shift.
minor things were taken care of rather quickly if need be at the start of my shift, other wise, close the hood, and get on down the road.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
My firing record is 4 total. Rest are quit for cause or transfer to another company, all of the companies except four no longer exist.
Much of my drivers view experience has been when bosses or suits have had trouble with drivers for many reasons and it is usually settled either in the drivers room or in the side office. The disappearance of said driver usually alerts the rest of the fleet within a week by word of gossip that so and so got canned for this and that.
Overall to wrap up my position, any time a company chooses to run a shame bulletin board they destroy what little spirit and morale or even motivation through those who are marginal anyway and could have been successful in time with a little care as to how they are handled.
I have grown sick of corporate people talking in orientation about how we are a family, a team, a espirit de corps all for one one for all etc. It's propaganda worthy of the old Soviet model. Means nothing when a load is conflicted, with legit problems or battles of time and distance versus a slow transfer of load information to almost close of office day. Among other things.
Four companies I have worked with has standing offers to take me on, however all of them know my situation which I make no secret of and it's a privledge to have worked with the good people within them later in my trucking years. Which is why I consider the first 6 years of my time out there a total waste. Wallowing in bad companies with even worse prospects for running for a first class outfit. -

Much of the industry related things have been put away or converted to stories where possible. And boy do they have a long way to go. -
I guess the owners of a company should not be aware of any problems cause the problem people will be butt hurt.
Isn't that what is going on in schools now? -
D.Tibbitt Thanks this.
