if you had a six year old and said six year old came home crying and said they hated school and didnt want to go back what would you do ? You would ask why I hope. Then child tells you that they got a D- or 60 on a test and the teacher called your child to front of the class and said," you're a dumb kid and failed this test, from now on maybe I should just answer the questions for you. Your my worst screwup and test taker". How would you feel ? Good the teacher did it right by humilating your child. Now she/he learned a lesson. She/he now hates school, the teacher and don't want to go back and learn.
No this never happened to me

I'll have to say and give this driver if she sees this a lot of credit. Last week at Jims truck stop in Buffalo NY this driver came out of the truck stop, turned on all lights and checked them, then she checked the oil and other fluids excluding rears, then she did a visual under the truck, then she did a check of every tire, not just a quick look at them, but a thorough inspection even of inside duals, but wait, it didnt stop there. Out comes a tire pressure gauge and she checks the pressure in every tire, and I mean every tire. Including the spare. Now whens the last time any driver did this ? For me its been years since I did it while I was out on the road, but will when back at the shop.
MY HAT OFF TO THIS DRIVER. Keep up the good job !

When I was in school I would not get up in front of the class for oral conversation. The teacher made me get up in front of the class every day to tell a joke or whatever I wanted but I did something in front of the class. Did my parents do anything? NO.

What is wrong with ALL the owners knowing what the other owners are doing.

Say it was a math test. Afterwards the teacher goes puts the wrong answers up on the board and talks about WHY that answer/process was wrong and how it should have been done. Since its not hard for kids to know who got what grade, your kid feels bad about themself and probably takes some crud.

    Scenario 2:
Instead of going thru the test with the whole class, the teacher holds one or two kids back from recess for remediation. It is now very clear which kid is the "dummy" and the kid feels punished for being dumb. A secondary downside is the rest of the class doesn't get to learn from their own mistakes or the mistakes of their classmates.

Scenario 3, kid goes tp the restroom and pees in the trash can. Teacher talks to kid privately. Next day a differnt kid goes to the bathroom and pees in the trash can, teacher talks to kid privately, then talks to the class about the difference between a trash can and a toliet. Next day a third kid gets excused to the bathroom and when he comes back to class he poops in the recyle bin. At which point the teacher goes "Wtf Davy?!" and sends letters home to all the parents about the poop show .

Three scenarios all with varying degrees of name and shame. From what I gathered TMC isn't doing this over missed appointments, bad trip plans, etc but over torn up equipment and freight that was damaged due to driver stupidity. Right or wrong, at some point the teacher is going to say "wtf davey?

Yup, I can remember writing checks for fuel also. Had to put drivers license number on it which was a class 1 back then and my NYS drivers license number was 13 numbers long. After having to read and write it so many times I could remember it. I still have an old one which is paper and well worn from many many miles.

If the teacher did here, He/she and I would have a conversation with the superintentent. If that didnt solve the problem and the teacher didn't take a more professional approach I would make sure that he/she had the word put out about them.
And as with TMC they should do a write up, maybe one on one with their trainer to point out what was done wrong and if that doesn't work, send them to Swift

They should send a couple of people from management at TMC so they can understand how tough OTR is. Only then will they understand. We drive long hours and drive various schedules. Come on over management. Don’t be scared.
