Well you can add Maverick Transportation to the list now.

Apparently the insurance company talked them into reversing the statement that they trust their drivers and that forward facing cameras are all you need to show fault in an accident.

New 2021 trucks have driver facing cameras installed but the claim is that they won't be putting them in the older trucks.

    akaDug and Rugerfan Thank this.

Transam has decided to take theirs out, hopefully that's a sign for the industry.

I seem to recall Dean Newell saying in orientation a few years ago that if he had his way, Maverick would never have inward facing cameras. I guess he didn't get his way.

What I remember was they said that they'd never put in driver cameras because they only hire the best drivers and they trust their drivers and that everything needed to prove fault in an accident is outside of the cab of the truck where the forward facing camera is pointed.

    So much for that.

Related to the post above about Dynamic Transit using rear facing hood mirror cameras, who else does it?

Elogs are one thing but driver facing camera and audio recorders got to go. Didn't a Canadian court rule driver facing cameras an illegal?

    Rugerfan Thanks this.
