My advice to you because you are fresh from school is DON'T LIE ABOUT YOUR SKILLS AND TAKE ALL THE TRAINING YOU CAN GET FROM WHATEVER COMPANY YOU GO WITH. we don't need another know everything in two wk. driver on the road. The more you learn from someone the safer you will be and the more hands on training you get the better you will make it for everyone else on the road. ( this is with a good trainner at your side of course)

Swift IS the worst!! I drove for DSW (a Swift O/O) for 4 years and saw it all!! A driver can get out of training after 2-3 weeks and Swift immediately puts them on the crap routes, bad weather and all...it's not so much the drivers (altho not fully trained) but the extremely POOR mgmt that runs the company!!

question to people who know what is what.......

my son is considering truck driving school....

he's been offered the CR England deal....He has no experience.
They have promised him what I saw on their web site...they will train him, etc, etc, etc,,,,supposedly he wont owe them anything except "time after he graduates"....
he tells me that the training school is in Chicago....

anyway....what is the real deal?.....he wants to see the "good side" but I just want to make sure he is aware of what is the real deal......

any response appreciated....send it to my home account
    [LINK REMOVED]

I see they really push the lease program as well....I think my kid is thinking being a "company driver"....

    thanks

I have not worked for Schneider however I understand from quite many people that their opportunities are far superior to CRE, plus CRE is specifically Reefer which is and is not a good idea depending entirely upon what one wants to do, yet Schneider has Flatbed, Stepdeck, Tanker, Dry Van, and possibly Reefer, so with this company there are alternatives plus they are a growing company and seem to treat their employees far better than jbhunt, swift, cre, werner, etc.

Like I said above, I am NOT a former driver for Schneiderr nor am I involved with them in ANY way what-so-ever, I am merely passing along info for your edification.

My wife and I went to their school and did our 90 days (Every New Guy Leaves After Ninety Days) and have never experienced so much unprofessionalism and ************ ever. Oh yeah, they tell you everything's going to be great but, in the end, they simply want to rip you off, make you work your *** off and put your life in danger.

Go to England and prepare to be treated like a second-class citizen, prepare to work for peanuts and have them run you, just don't let DOT find out! Then try to collect your pay! HAHAHA! You'll be nickeled and dimed to death by these morons (mormons, hypocrites.)

I'm a college educated man. Was in a "professional" occupation and tired of the rat race. I was looking for a "simpler" life and although I have no regrets because I'm enjoying trucking, I've been totally shocked at the way these people conduct business and wonder why the law hasn't caught up with them?!

ENGLAND THRIVES ON TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE POOR AND UNEDUCATED.

These thieves will suck you into their school, charge you an outrageous amount of money, hide their thievery on your pay vouchers behind such classifications as "reserve" then tell you you'll "get it all back" if you leave the company or after "x" amount of time.

ENGLAND has a well-orchestrated way of misleading their drivers.

Now that we've put in our "missionary" work with these ********, we're moving on to a new company with MUCH better pay (approximately twice the pay), benefits and bonuses (England tells you about bonuses but they don't really exist.)

There are a lot of companies out there, the big ones all may be the same, I'm not sure but, there are also a lot of companies out there that are genuine in helping their people instead of RIPPING THEM OFF.

    Do your homework. Good Luck!

CRE used to advertise every day in the Salt Lake Tribune. There was a good reason for that. They SUCKED. Apparently they still do.

Throw your CDL in the garbage before going to work for England.

Nice acronym. It's true too. That's the reason those guys had/have to advertise for drivers every day of the world.

Yeah, I'm not too impressed with CRE myself. I just got ran through their program and am now getting paid peanuts to make other people money. Just think, once you are done with CRE schooling and then you go to training, you'll end up making your first trainer 15k and then your CAT trainer another 15k.

You'll be lucky to make $2500 in this timeframe, and let's not get started on what they take out of your check. The sad thing is, for the first three to four weeks, you'll be making less the min wage. Alot less. So CRE has truck drivers out there running around making less then the people at Burger King.
