what cane said they are pitted. Due to rocks, sand and even hard shell bugs. The only solution is replacement.

    What years?
I had a crankshaft break in a 97 company truck that had 1.75mil on it, mine has 2.25mil on it with no problems but it hit the road in mid 95.

Yup I just replaced the driver side windshield on the 06 Pete last fall from a rock picked up from a cement truck It was the original from new. I could not believe the difference the new one made. The original was so sandblasted it made driving at night uncomfortable.

That’s an issue with the 6.7 Cummins vs the 5.9. The larger bore makes it easier for head gasket problems to appear should one crank the horsepower too high.
