I have driven thousands of loads. 780 last year alone. In my entire career I have had maybe 5 loads that I was not able to scale. Usually if no t/s scale you can scale at a moving company or many farms that hual heavy loads like grain. There are also public scales I have used. I always kept a journal of where I found reliable parking & scales in my travels & as a last resort you can have a release of liability sent to a scalehouse so you don't have to pay the fine. I had a load were the company did that at the POE because my bulk load of scrap metal kept moving on me.

I was in a very rare safety gathering dinner situation once with a company. The Safety poohbah belabored a lawyer who was run off the road and the situation that was part of that problem.

That was me who run a BMW off the road once when I made a move forced upon me by three other cars who put themselves in harms way. The fourth car had a choice to make move onto grass or get on braking, ima coming over right now. Zip!

    She took the grass.

Im pretty sure she raised all sorts of holy hell. Ultimately no one got hurt. But if I had hesitated a few more heartbeats I hate to think what might have happened. And it would have been all my fault for killing many people at that point.

Looking far back on that particular day and situation I can see where my much younger self made bad choices leading up to that little pack dance with the three cars who set me up or rather I set myself up through a number of ways.

And people wonder why I talk about ball bearing loads so much. They were heavy, that's why.
