I did a bit of a search but couldn't find any info on the forum about this location. As I understand it, it's a "Transportation Hub" as opposed to a DC. I get bombarded with ads advertising jobs at this location, which is about an hour from me. I'm currently OTR, and a 5/2 schedule is appealing. Just wondering if there are any drivers here with the 411 on working out of McClellan Park, CA ? It's basically Sacramento.

It's an old Air Force Base. Lots of distribution companies there. I've delivered there.

Basically it's at Watt and I-80, just to the north for the main gate (old main gate that is). Truck entrance is to the west of that off secondary street. Biggest commodity out of there is paper rolls (Hydra) PODS has a facility in there too. Plus outside the old fence perimeter for the base are several smaller outfits...lots of traffic (truck activity) over there.

I work out of 6889 (McClellan, CA). Some people consider it just a drop yard, although we do have some facilities (management, dispatch, safety, restrooms). Primarily drivers out of this location support the DC's in McCarran and Red Bluff, although we'll occasionally support Porterville, Apple Valley, or Hermiston. Not sure just how many drivers we have now, but I think we're still hiring. All of our trucks are '19 or newer, and all automatics. Good place to work out of.

Sweet. Thanks for the info. I've read that the money you make is somewhat dependant on the location you work out of, how is it there? They're advertising $87k first year potential.

    truckdriver31 Thanks this.

You could easily make $87k in the 1st year here.

McClellan sounds very similar to what the recruiter described to me about the new "drop yard" they just opened up in March in Centralia, WA.

Do you know anything about Centralia?
