Any o/o use a fleet card or fuel card? A friend of mine started using one. Claims it is saving him almost 200 a week and I believe him. Says it the feet edge card. Just was wondering what everyone else’s experiences were with them. Right now I just pay cash or swipe the card if it doesn’t make much of a difference but seems like these fleet cards can save you up to 20-30 cents a gallon......cash never comes close to that.

Honestly though, we use the NASTC QPN network fuel card for 100% of fuel purchases. We saved $78k on 247,000 gallons last year, running 9 trucks. It is true that the "cash" price at the places we get discounts are inflated, as Petro/TA is typically more expensive than smaller truck stops. But with the discount, and accounting for the prime locations and easy access of these on network stops, we come out way ahead each year.

I have a Fleetone Edge card, it’s pretty good. You won’t save a lot at the big boys ($0.10 I think), but you’ll save quite a bit elsewhere. I fueled this morning at Circle K for $2.42, 3 miles from the big boys & their fuel was $2.65 with a discount.

I save apprx 200 a month with. EFS card. I am a leased op. 12 bucks to use the card if fuel totals less than 1000 a week. Over 1000 and card charge is 17 a week. My 200 saved is after the card charge is paid.

Guess I’m getting one. You guys run into weird fees? I noticed a 75 dollar app fee and another pay scale. They also wanted bank account information directly.

I don't go to any of the over priced mega corporate truck stops. I get my discount by staying away from them

I use my OOIDA Truckers Advantage. I've yet to find anyone that doesn't take it, its by WEX/Fleet One but just like 6 Wheeler said I stay away from mega stores unless I need to grab a few gallons to get to my next fuel stop.
For example I run pretty much dedicated route I40 LA - Oklahoma City Cheapest fuel is AKAL Santa Rosa NM at the moment paying $2:39 compared to the T/A - Pilot - Loves in Santa Rosa 10 miles away $2:70 England/ Knight and a few other bigger outfits gave me cards, but they want you to fill at big truck stops, you save 10cents but it still doesn't add up to the savings by filling at independents they get pissed if you don't us the big guys T/A Loves Pilot because I'm sure they get big kick backs.
