    Yea I've been thinking that in the back of my head not to mention the vid someone posted last week about that. It rang true with just the lanes we've been running. The decent brokers are paying 250+ on the same lane

    Thinning the herd is one thing . Parked used trucks don't mysteriously go away. They eventually come back into the playing field. That's the scary part.

    To clarify we run 100% spot van freight and home every night 2 truck operation.

    I'll add to what i said. I'll give a few examples of our short haul game. + when salt and dog food are paying you know something's up. 3.90mi from Watkins Glen (Cargill) down to southern pa 240mi. It's not through ch I can tell ya that much

    -$1120 Elmira Ny to Wilmington De 340ish no
    -one of our steady runs $700 on 168mi (4.16mi or 2.08 if we dh MT back.
    -another steady 1250 for 347mi with 5k in the box. Usually dh 50 mi to Hollis center grab water down to Newburgh for 925

    - $800 on 175mi +75hr detention @5hours at buzzottos grocery warehouse need i explain more lol

    No no i wasn't saying that i was saying that since i know what certain unscrupulous brokers pay that it is deff a brokers mkt for the time being.

    I guess i should elaborate on those rates i posted. I was using that as an EX to prove rates aren't as low as the brokers are making it out to be

    You could always skip the brokers and go straight to the shippers. Shippers are not stupid and are definitely price shopping right now. It’s not just a bunch of greedy brokers taking more than they used to, although I’m sure there are some that are doing that on contract freight that they have.
