Why 11 in the states?? Cuz some suit wearing idiot decided that’s what’s best. If you ask me, it should be 16 on 8 off. No working window. But hey, what does somebody with 20+ years in an industry know over some politician who’s never worked more than 6 hours a day in his life??

In CAN it's because that's how long it took SLH and Consumers distributing to do a Montreal turn, verified by an MTO official sitting in the jump seat.
    More folklore - maybe.
In a truck limited to 100 kmh.

The us went from 10 to 11 so that was an improvement.
    Personally I liked it.
The other thing is that's not a day, just after 11 hr you must park for 10 then you can drive again.

Drove to Green Bay from northeast Iowa, 1 drop there, 2 hours off duty, was at Dodgeville at midnight. Drove to the near west burbs of Chicago, last drop, drove to N. Utica, took an 8 hour sleeper split, and made it back to Northeast Iowa. 28 miles after midnight to the yard and about 85 miles before midnight the night before.

720 miles midnight to midnight, 11 and a half hours drive time. No weather or traffic delays other than minor backup on the Ike and then down IL 171 to 55.

Lol just did 740 the other day, you need help from the traffic gods and a fast truck - just remember to make sure to switch status as soon as possible on breaks. As was said by another above if you assume 10.5 hrs and subtract two miles per hour from your max speed you can calculate a max range - keep in mind the DOT officers will do the same calculation if you're pulled in.

I did 714 yesterday with 21 minutes left and 711 today with 27 minutes left.
I don't normally push it that fast but I had a long way to go and a short time to get there.
Oh, I did not exceed any speed limits.

    I did 640, governed at 66.
If I were 70+ it'd easily be over 700. The main deciding factor is having a guaranteed place to park.

It's not that difficult in the states with 70 + speed limits, keep the left door closed, don't stop at every truck stop you come to.With e logs you need to watch your speed , our company hates speeding tickets

I did 714 governed at 68 yesterday, East WY to mid NV on I-80. Probably could’ve done more but slowed down due to strong cross winds and fog through parts of WY. Best day is so far is 724 loaded light heading east on I-40 from Winslow, AZ to almost OKC. It can be done easily with the right conditions and a place to park. Mom n pop trucks stops a mile or so off the interstate and rest areas are your best bets.

    jethro712 and mjd4277 Thank this.
