So im gonna be picking a no tarp load of 20ft rebar from gerdau on lakeview rd in charlotte for the first time tomorrow. How bad should i expect them to suck? And what would yall recommend for securement on it? I have no idea what the load will look like or how many arrows are gonna try to shoot out on me.

Guys, this is interesting snap shot of trucking in the 50'. Grandpa, was running a LJ Mack with a 300 Cummins, Step Grandpa in similar Super Servive White as the film. Later to remove the white 250 flat head gasser to put a 180 cummins in it, then turbo charged and hot set up for a 250 Cummins and a Mack duplex trans. Paul Krupp was the first guy to make the dual feed fuel line for a Cummins. Cummins and anyone else got the dual line set up from him.
Anyhow great old film. Drivers had respect and respected themselves.

Can’t speak from personal experience on the Gerdau part but I’ve hauled some rebar. Straight rebar is easy, for 20’s it’ll probably be 3 stacks, 2 on the deck and the other on top center. I and everyone else I’ve seen use straps personally 8 of em is what I used.cke, Eldiablo, FoolsErrand and 5 others Thank this.
