Did that once. Took two days before I could walk normally, I was so stiff. Not to mention hungry as all get out, and somewhat dehydrated.

I used your logic, to a T, to make your own point, in a somewhat humorous manor. Some will see that humor, some won't. There simply is not a single driver out here who can say he hasnt bent/broke the rules at some point, even the ones who try to do it 100% legal to the second.

Yes, you will always be able to cheat the system, and produce a log that will look legit..... whether that log is paper or electronic. There are some very bright drivers out here, and they'll find a way!
But, the first time you find yourself in a serious incident, and lawyers and investigators start poking around, you're gonna find yourself in a heap of trouble..... serious trouble.
You don't even need an EOBR to sink your boat. The "electronic" trail that we leave behind, is already sufficient to reveal falsification of a log.

I remember a time when we were saying the same thing about radar detectors in trucks. The battle waged for a few years and when it looked like the 'law' was finally going to be defeated, the sneaky sob's who were for banning radar detectors, simply got the DOT to change the rule book, bypassing the law making process, and just like that, radar detectors were banned in trucks,
never to return. If they can't pass a law they will sneak it in the back door. Big Brother will be in all trucks sooner than you think IMHO. It sucks, but it is what it is.

'A friend of mine' did a 26-hour straight run from Winnemucca NV to Minneapolis. He was #### well going to be home for Xmas no matter what the law said. Of course, this was over a decade ago when there was no PrePass, no cameras on every corner, and a good attitude and a clean truck could talk you out of a lot. You couldn't get away with that today.
I'm just kidding...I don't have any friends.

I wished I lived in that perfect world that you occupy. Or maybe you have finally found the ideal job. Good for you if that's the case.
Sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and there is nothing "pathetic" about it. Nothing to be "amazed" about either.
I'm willing to bet that in all your years out here you have done things differently than you do now at some point.
I know I have. I am legit now, but I have spent time on the dark side. A lot more than a little fudging. Things I will never post on an open forum.
I'm not proud of any of it, but I was doing what I felt I had to do at the time and I'm not judging anybody else for what they are doing.Wiseguywireless Thanks this. -
As opposed to doctors that routinely operate on our loved ones after being on duty for 24 hours?
As opposed to RV'ers and vacationers that do not routinely drive long distances but will get in their vehicles and drive a thousand miles to get to Disneyland?
I for one have more respect for the professional drivers that know their limitations and routinely drive 500 600 or more miles per day.
Heck under the old HOS rules a driver could in fact legally log a thousand miles in a 24 hour period. Running with a fast truck out west it is pretty easy as long as you keep that left door closed.Wiseguywireless Thanks this. -
