No older than 7 years old, less than 19500 lbs with 100 gallons of fuel and a wheel base less than 265'. Also the fifth wheel must be shorter than 48'.

Coming from 7/4 7/3 how long do you plan to stay out with your own truck?

11-14 days and then home 3-4. I go so slow now trying to save fuel the company drivers blow by me

I always wondered about that when I was a company driver at Roehl. I would barrel up on and pass an owner operator or lease deal operator at a whopping 62 mph in my company neutered truck quite often.

My question is do you have to really go so slow (i.e. 55 in a 65) just to make a buck with their deal?

Roehl is the only company I've seen out there where the O/O's and lessors go slower than the slow company trucks and it's by choice.

Now I am local and barrel up on an orange trailer and start to pass in my 75 mph company truck and the O/O for the orange trailer steps on the gas even though they were already doing 65 and I sometimes have to back off and get behind them.

What's up with O/O's going so slow at Roehl? Do they still have you set for an overspeed on the QC? What's up with that? Always wondered.

My truck is not governed or set to record overspeed. Roehls O/O's cannot go into Canada because the trucks go faster than Canada governed rule. I have ran my truck as fast as 85 mph but there is no sense in it. I have really come to understand that anything faster than 65mph really just takes from my bottom line. I personally want to make as much as I can and not waste. If I am pressed for time I will run faster but if not being pressed why waste the money. If I can put $100 more a week in my pocket by driving smart that will make me a extra $5200 a year which is nearly five truck payments.

    Etch,
I tried sending a private, but i don't have enough posts. I was wondering if you dropped your old volvo off at the gary terminal? I've seen one parked there for a few weeks now, and it hasn't moved. I'd like to drive a volvo (considering I might like to purchase one in the future) and figured since my fleet manager is going to try and find me a truck with an apu, I'd make it easy and just request your old truck.

    thanks
    joe

Joe ~ If it's the Volvo that is backed into the bobtail row by the orientation building, it doesn't run.
