The grapevine claimed my CDL

Wife and i were headed off the plateau on i40 to dinner in cookeville tn last night when a van passed us doing 70 into the 5 mile long 6% 55 zone. He probably hit 80 before stabbing the brakes and riding them hard the entire time without pause. I could see orange hoops from half mile behind him and the cloud was probably 20ft high over our heads. We friggin stunk when we got to dinner. Thanks rookie.

 

Kern county is a ##### ... I doubt it will get reduced in court. Roadlaw, TVC pro driver, etc for lawyer. Expect that you could buy a used car for the price of the ticket.

 

The gear you use at 55 mph isn’t the same gear you use at 35 mph.. but it will easily allow you to 65 mph in no time flat going down the grapevine with jakes on.. Good Luck In Court your livelihood depends on it.

Years ago. It was my first time over that hill. I'd say around 9 years ago.

 

I got a ticket at same place in 2017. I think I was going 45 or 50 I don’t remember exactly. I used The Ticket Clinic law firm there out of LA Area. The helped me reduced it to non moving violation. I still paid the fine but it didn’t go on my record.

 

Hate that when they come off the Grade out of control smokin , grab another gear dummy.
