Decided to decline the offer for the other job as they told me their is extremely slow months and during those slow months you only get around 30-40 hours so I'm going to stick the current job out for 4-5 more months and then start looking at my other options.
is it worth the switch?

I can't tell you what to do....I can only tell you what I would do. I like OTR better than local. For me it's a breeze to work the 4 months and pay that 2700 off. You have to ask yourself where you fit best in this industry. For the most part, jobs pay the about the same hourly or mileage, I'm talking about what you take. There are few exceptions. You cant expect to be home by 1 -3 pm OTR. Sometimes that happens, most of the time, it'll be that evening or night. If you stay OTR, you'll have to understand not everything is in your control. Good luck driver

You work alot in the summertime. Winter is just a needed break. Down time is always good from the summer burnout.

Ohyes indeed. Summer time blacktop starts about 1 march. Work until you cannot see. About mid october you are told scram, get your unemployment going, I'll call you in 1 march next year give or take a week.
Resting at home in winters while dweebs fight to shovel out their beemers to slog in two feet of snow to DC twice a day is a wonderful thing. Spoiled even. -
I worked enough to not get unemployment

Never count on overtime with these local hourly jobs.
That's from 25 years experience.
In fact, most of them send you home at or before
You get to the 40 hours.
Like I said before, you saved yourself from a
3 to 4 hundred a week paycut.
That's a lot of money.
Finish that 4 months contract and get away
From that teaming stuff and go do your own thing. -
