Engine temp runs at 170 all the time, won’t move unless heavy on long grades.
Had new thermostat put in and temp sensor tested, still runs cold.
Anyone else have this issue or had this fixed?

Mine does the same thing, and I never thought 170 was cold.

Shop said normal was 185/190, mine used to run there and bump up at inclines or heavy street traffic. Now it’s at 170 all the time. As sensitive as these trucks are with emissions and tolerances I want to fix whatever the issue is b4 it breaks something expensive.

You don't even have one! You overheated the one you had and burnt it up doing 100+! We know all about you!

My Volvos ran at 170°,had serious fans when pulling grades 100° outside. Up to 200° then right back down to 170. My current Freightliner is always at 195°.

I’m going by what the tech at Volvo said, should be around 190 deg.
This truck does not run right and Volvo can’t find a problem. I’ve replaced everything on the emissions, egr valve, egr cooler, thermostat, cleaned dpf, cleaned scr (did notice the doser is over dosing def fluid) had overhead run, had cylinders tested. I’m in the hole big for January and it’s still not working right. About to give up, I can’t survive the remaining 12 months of payments at 6mpg.
