What I think is more likely is a driver with a bad attitude decided to get confrontational and is now suffering the consequences for being a douche bag.
The fact that charges haven't been filed supports this.

You don’t get to shoot someone because you don’t like their attitude.
The fact charges haven’t been filed is because the OKC police department hasn’t presented the case yet to the District Attorney. The driver was in critical condition but is now expected to live. I just got off the phone with the OKC P.D. public information officer two hours ago.Hulld, Rideandrepair and PE_T Thank this. -
Depends on the state. Oklahoma is a stand your ground state. Jump up in someone's face and they can shoot you dead.Upinsmoke Thanks this.

I won’t be spending a penny inside that place has always been over priced.Rideandrepair Thanks this.

So is Iowa 80. The same products, from the same manufacturer, are much cheaper at smaller chrome shops. The one at exit 2 in ga is a fine example.Tall Mike Thanks this.

It must be really cool to shoot anyone to death just for any disturbance you may feel. I feel threatened. Poof!
Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
Ya its pretty cool to live in a state where you have the right to defend yourself from violence and threats of violence.
-
I’m pretty sure you can legally shoot someone in most states if violence is involved, but to shoot someone for some dumb argument.

Also, security guards should carry a non-lethal gun (along with a real gun). Sometimes you don’t need to shoot someone. The goal should be restraining the individual, not executing people.Cabinover101 and Rideandrepair Thank this. -
Jumping into someone's face is an act of violence. Cussing them out from 20 feet away isn't.
I wasnt there and neither was you. So we can only guess what took place. My guess is it's more likely the driver acted with open hostility by either physical intent, or threat of physical assault by jumping in his face and the guard took self defensive actions. Imo, that is more likely then the security guard shooting the driver for no reason.
If the evidence supports it was not a good shoot charges will be filed. So guess we will just have to wait and see.
Edit: no, not every state gives you the right ti defends yourself. In many states you are required to flee, not defend. And can only respond with defensive actions id your life is judged to be in danger. In a stand your ground state, you don't have to attempt to flee first. This eliminates the risk of prison because 12 unemployed jury members decided your life wasnt in danger, that ghetto thug was only going to beat you not kill you.Last edited: Feb 17, 2020
