    Take pride in your ride!!!

There ain't nothing wrong with your truck and I feel pretty confident saying your doing better than most out here. A paid for older truck is always gonna make life easier.

Polishing ain't rocket science....it ain't no fun to do but you get instant gratification. I do it myself cause I'm to dang tight to pay for it. It is one of the grimmest jobs you'll ever do.

I like that, but I can’t see one of those hoods working on yours. I think your hood is wider where it mates up to the cab.

Well if you in the market for the hardest freightliner hoods to replace, you have found both.

I have heard of guys putting a putting a FLC hood on to a FLD cab sfa. I'm told the cowl needs some work to do it right. Idk never done it. Before dad past I was gonna put a fld 120 classic hood on his fld set back and move the axle out. That's fairly simple. It needed a hood and paint anyhow. Add oil pan and misc. So not much to it. I was gonna fab some extentions down in stainless from cowl/cab like the 120/132 classic.

With enough time and money anything can be accomplished.

I was told by a old timer that managed a FL dealer from the 70s thru 2004 or so. The reasons FL went to a fiberglass hood on FLC's was insurance companies pressure. The aluminum and fiberglass was both offered for sometime. But the reason was the glass hood caused less cab damage when it hit something. It was heavier but absorbed impact better. The aluminum hoods cause to much damage, even totaling damage. The flc,fld cab is a design from airplane construction. This was a huge weight savings ahead of there time. Just never lift one with a sling thru the door frames. It will wrinkle.

Solid and durable trucks, I’ve always heard they were. But that body style.... ugh. Volvo ruins everything.
