You mean when an idiot meets another idiot.

 

The truck driver did exactly what the protesters wanted him to do. The protesters used him like a tool.
They want confrontation and they'll agitate a situation until they get it. The protesters pissed off the driver until he lost his temper and did something dangerous...and newsworthy.
Are the protesters a major PITA? Absolutely they are. But there are better ways to deal with them than running over them with a truck.

 

That better way is just as illegal. You know it's illegal to shut down highways with protests right, or at least we hear that everytime somebody mentions parking trucks and shutting them down.
