It's been a really long time since I posted on here. I'm still with Pride. I have a couple things to clarify.
The worst thing about my post is that I made a misstatement about the sign on bonus. It is a 5,000 dollar bonus paid monthly at 200 a month for 24 months with the last month getting 400 dollars. I did receive the first 200 dollar bonus so when I posted I thought what I was saying was true, but it is actually only for experienced drivers. It is not for new drivers. I do not know what the minimum level of experience which is necessary to receive that bonus.
So things have been going well. I tried to get the MPG and mileage bonus in January by working the entire 31 days. Now that is a horrible month to try it on with the snow and all, but I did it nonetheless. My MPG was under the benchmark so I received no bonus for that. The goals are unrealistic and now I idle whenever I want to. As to the miles, I got an unimpressive 10,800 which gave me a whopping 50 dollar bonus. Also not worth it. So both of those bonuses are not very good at all.
In Pride's defense though, they are very good about paying other bonuses. They never have a problem with detention and I've made a lot of money that way. Never work for a company that doesn't pay for detention! The most I've gotten was 150 dollars but the cap is 250 I believe. They give me layovers of 50 dollars whenever I'm sitting around which is not much. I sat on a load when there was confusion at the consignee. Then the next day I went to drop it at a drop yard and the trailer I picked up was broken. So I took it to be repaired then I was late to my pickup. Out of all of that, they gave me three layovers and breakdown pay totaling 200 dollars plus I made the next delivery without a reschedule so that was all on top of the miles for the same time period. They are very good with these bonuses and detention.
Since January I've gotten upgraded on the miles I've been getting. Last week I did 3800 miles with one night at home and I snuck in a 34 hour reset. That check was 1375 after taxes. The previous check was 1400 after taxes but that one had my school reimbursement bonus in it.
So all in all, I would say that Pride is a very good company to work for. The big complaint by senior drivers is that the top end of the pay scale is 43.5 cents per mile which is not very competitive. But the cents per mile has gone up 3 times recently right before I got here. I had a guy in my class who went with May Transport and he wishes he had went with Pride. Another guy went local and he feels the same way.
Anyways, that is my update. Hope it helps someone! -

I liked that Pride Transport had siriusxm already built in with the radio, you have to pay for the subscription, but you don’t need to buy an external radio.
