I ran it through a BMI calculator, and it came out to 30.81 - I think 30 is the limit. For your age bracket, you need to drop about 10 lbs... not such a big deal.

Bugger that. 260 was my fighting weight in the army. I'm 20lbs. under that, and way outta condition. I ain't starving myself down to skin and bones to appease some company what already turned me down.

Its sleep apnea too. FMCSA medical board is pushing the whole deal - max BMI, sleep studies...
Sucks. Looks like it just might happen though.
OTOH, truck drivers have a significantly shorter lifespan than the general population, and type II diabetes is no joke. I can keep my blood sugar under control, but only when I'm under about 180 lbs.
Our safety department says it's got the max BMI deal simply to keep us more healthy, plus on the sleep apnea side, they're trying to get ahead of the curve. They won't hire you if you have an undiagnosed sleep apnea problem too. It's okay if you've had a sleep study, and are doing something about it. -
Its ok my friends if yall want to go on an diet i will be right behind ya cheering you on......... With an big ol double cheeseburger in my mouth....hahahahaha

You might be too skinny for Werner.
I think an earlier poster was correct in saying that if companies start enforcing this ridiculous requirement there will again be a shortage of qualified drivers.
I am 6 ft. and 300 lbs. I was in the hospital twice last year for two surgeries to repair my arm that was broken in a car accident. Both times they did all the health screens on me. All in normal, healthy range. The doc did say I could lose weight, but I was healthy as an ox. I have been driving 12 years and never once have I thought to myself I couldn't do something because I was overweight. If a company refused me employment that I was qualified for due to my weight I am sure my lawyer would have a field day working that one out. And, yes, I do have a lawyer on retainer and am actually going to call him tomorrow and ask him what is the legality of discriminating on the basis of weight. -
Who are they to tell whether you have undiagnosed sleep apnea without doing a sleep study and diagnosing you??? Idiots.
Mr. Company idiot: "You have sleep apnea"
Driver: "No, I don't"
Mr. Company idiot: "Yes, you do"
Driver: " I've never been diagnosed with it"
Mr. Company idiot: "Well I just did and you have it. I'm not a doctor, but I play one in my office" -
It might be a step in the right direction. I think its alright

At will emplyment... as long as they don't violate the Fair Labor Act a company can pretty much set any rules they like.
