Anything as small as a 4inch knife is illegal to carry. You could be charged with carrying a weapon, you could be fired for braking company policy specially if they can prove you knew about the company policy. My dad told me to get a gun for protection specially after he started “googling” stuff and saw how truckers get robbed and killed in certain parts of states. But then again, you can protect your self by being aware of your surroundings, checking for abandoned looking places watching for people looking for trouble or just looking around. I don’t think is worth it to get caught -if you happen to get caught- and take the chance of getting that out in your record.

Each company is going to be different. Read the policies carefully. Does it say "no weapons" or does it say "no unlicensed weapons?" Big difference. If they don't define it then state law takes precedence. In Tx a 5 1/2" blade is legal.

Are their policies vague or are they specific? If it doesn't say what length of blade is a weapon then their arbitrary decisions could end up costing them a lot of money when they get sued for wrongful termination.
