I have a parking lot with room for practicing maneuverability that you are free to use if you wish, but I'm in the same boat as you are with driving on the road.
If you don't mind me asking, how much are schools charging?

@PoleCrusher. So I'm guessing it a Ercer policy thing? Because you as a owner OP are allowed to train a few drivers per year. I'm really on the same boat. I have plenty of space, but with out pee test and job application it's no go on the road.
Have you checked job and family services of Ohio. Last I knew they would pay for a driver to get a licence. Or help pay for it.
Maybe make friends with a farmer that dont fall under motor carrier regulations? Just make sure the equipment passes the inspection before she tests. Really in Ohio anyone over 16 can drive if it is exempt commodity owned by that farm.Last edited: Feb 21, 2020

You can use a pickup and a trailer as long as the gvw of the two combined are over 26k.
If she needs air brakes you can use your truck. All she has to do is the brake portion of the pretrip on it for that endorsement. -
Just make sure that it's what you want.

Our local vocational school is $4700. Cheapest school and preferred option, cause they have a 10 week class that goes on Saturdays. Plus they will know what's needed to be done for the test.
The next cheapest school was $9500, with most being around that $10k range.
I'm wondering if maybe we shouldn't open a driving school?cke, 1951 ford, singlescrewshaker and 9 others Thank this. -
