I’m not sure he twisted your words.....it was a direct quote that you posted!
I will however give you the benefit of doubt and perhaps say you stated your point incorrectly and meant to express something different
Is it slow for everyone

You asked me a question whether or not people without money were of no dignity. Did you not try to imply by that question that what I stated was the same as saying that the poor were social scum or something like that? That was my impression anyway, and if so, I feel quite offended by it.
Dignity is not only about following 10 commandments and being a moral and ethically aware man.
In my book and the way I was brought up, a dignity of a man is compromised when a man can't provide for his family, especially his offspring. If I could not do it, I would feel ashamed. If I were a man at a street corner begging for money, I'd consider myself a man of compromised dignity, if any.
And that's ok and healthy to be ashamed. If it happens, he has to do all in his power to regain it back. I would think that having a decent job and a decent pay are necessary for that. If you can do it making 35K a year, fine! Although, I did not know it was possible anywhere in U.S. today!
I was saying that it was so much harder to keep up a good living standard for 3, if not 4 decades now. There is no doubt that the average footing of life quality has been on a decline. The so called great economy, as some of you believe, has no leverage, or at best minimal (they like to call it trickle down effect) on common folks. The absolute majority of society are common folks.thelushlarry, Brettj3876, FoolsErrand and 2 others Thank this. -
What'd that room in the basement cost you a month in Chicago in the 90s? We were renting a house for 400 plus utilities a month a year ago, a single guy would be around 500 a month. This wasn't a new house by any means but it wasn't a complete dump either. Married and kids changes the whole situation. You shouldn't be paying for your kids college, they decide to go to college they should pay for it, gives them more incentive to get good grades and not pretend it's a 4 year party.SteveScott Thanks this.

Who's fault do you imagine it is that kids don't want to actually work for their money? How many times have you seen somebody doing manual labor and told your kids they better do good in school or they'll end up the janitor, or road crew guy, or any job that's actual work? Kids have been told those are low life jobs for years.D.Tibbitt and SteveScott Thank this.

Is it slow for everyone? My how we change subjects.
jlafume and spyder7723 Thank this. -
Not any slower than the last several years when comparing apple's to apple's. February is always the slowest month, but folks tend to forget that and compare February to last oct/nov/dec instead of the prior February.

Look, I can't take you seriously and have an argument with you, simply because of your age. It's just no matter how smart one can be at the early twenties, there is just no life experience on your end.
It would be like you having an argument with a 13 year old about having sex. He might know the theory really well from reading, watching movies and listening to older friends, but he can't back it up with his own first hand real life experiences. -
Maybe you'll understand this, pick your favorite multimillionaire, do you think they think they could live off 250k a year? Just because person A can't live off x amount of dollars doesn't mean person B can't, and that's what this discussion is.Deere hunter and Swine hauler Thank this.
