Thanks man. Had my ups and downs with my dad including a 2yr stretch from 2013 to 2015 of not speaking due to ugly divorce with my mom. However in the last 5 yrs we over came that and got extremely close again like we were when i grew up.
My dad drove a truck for 26 yrs and had to retire bout 6yrs ago due to copd. Hed text me every morning asking where i wss going and what i was hauling. I think he was living on the rosd still thru me. Hes helped me so much since i started driving almost 5yrs ago. His 26yrs of experience was invaluable.
Still doesnt seem real and really not looking forward to that 1st day back out on the road and not getting a text from him asking where I'm headed and givinh me the weather forecast.
Appreciate everyone's words greatly

How many times do you all go to Texas? Been there twice in 2 1/2 years dispatch says not much goes there but I know better. Walmart, glass, beer.....

I've taken dog food to Chewy in Ft. Worth, Essity to this little janitor supply place in Ft. Worth, roll stock to the port in Houston, Ashley furniture to Mesquite, toilet paper to AAFES in Waco, Pallets to Waco....that's the freight I can remember going down there. The load I turned down was Dial out of Pontoon Beach to Target in Waxahatchie. So yeah we do have freight going down there but I have no idea of volume. -
Anyone having problems with Transflo today? When I go to the app it won't open and gives me an error.

I have had the worst 4 day stretch since I started. Thursday made delivery to Atlanta Bonded. They gave me an MT that wasn’t there, went back in office they gave me another MT that was leaking water into inside of trailer. Was to told to report it and find another MT. Went back in office they said they had none, so I pointed out they had trailers in the doors with green lights. The guy said If you want to pull them out and see if their MT go ahead. 1st one was MT so good for me.
Had 4 hours and change left on clock got sent 2 minutes away. Got a door within 10 minutes where i sat for 6 hours. So once loaded I noticed I was heavy by the spring gage so knew in morning I would have to scale. Scale I was 580lbs over on drives go back to shipper Rastafarian dude was like that never happened before. I was hauling paper rolls. So instead of moving all three that were pushed to far forward he pulled one back about 5 feet. Went and scaled I was now at 33700.
So I start driving up 75 and as I drive I’m noticing the spring gage acting weird. Knew the 75 state scale was coming up so I got off at ex 318 and weighed myself at the pilot. Drives were now at 35900. My only guess is him pulling one roll out of the pod of three caused the rolls to start walking down the trailer.
Was told to go back to shipper where they accused me of locking up brakes. Which I didn’t, thank God we have drivecam because pretty sure that was the first morning since I have driven that I didn’t set that thing off at all.
Anyway the day shift reloads trailer the proper way, I go up to Cartersville and call it a day.
So yesterday I had 1800 appt for delivery with the same company just outside Cincy. I get there at 1500 given door right away was told shipping won’t be in until 1900 no biggie I’m early and should only take 30 minutes to unload. Well frick they didn’t even start to unload me until 0400 this morning. -
