CAT'S harness will only allow putting a 70 pin motor in a truck wired for a 40 pin motor, if I read you correctly, you are doing the opposite......

It can be done...it was the old way to get these things to run before the ecm's were able to be reprogrammed....I would just put a programmed ecm...
you can make the ecm so that you will want to throw away the PP box and wonder why you ever bought it...IMHO. But to aswer the qusetion it can be...
Two thoughts on this , I always like cooler fuel....second are you sure the speedometer calaibration is correct with the rear gear change..less...

Check throttle position sensor. Also all of the e cats benefit from fuel system upgrades
