Got it installed on December 1st. I’ve been running between Georgia and Florida and so far I’ve got 7000 miles on it and it runs awesome. No...
Don't worry about it, I'm new at this.
LOL...I know it's a long block, i'm just pointing out that everything under the head is all NXS and everything around the short block is 6NZ....
Well here’s my NXS short block with all my 6NZ parts bolted on. I’ll put the oil pump and pan on after it’s installed into the truck. Thanks...
I've never seen one there before, but thanks anyway.
I know, but if you go view the chart it clearly say C-15. I know C15 is associated with the acert engine.
Hi everyone, I've searched and can't seem to find anything on the subject. I'm trying to locate the engine id stickers/plates/film that go on the...
Ok, So is it possible to mount the C-16 piston to the C-15 rod? Or is that different as well?
I’m only asking because everything I’m finding on the internet says there the same. Can you point me in the right direction that says there different?
According to this the acert crank is the same as the C16 crank. Are they wrong? Caterpillar – Standard Crankshafts Scroll down towards the bottom.
The 6NZ and the NXS use the same liner (1979322). The piston rings are different so I had to use the NXS rings, and I went with the heavy haul...
A used C18 crank is selling for over $7000. To build a C16 I think I could have just bought C16 liners and pistons being that I already have the...
LOL...I’m not gonna to try that. I really was wondering if the length of the NXS crankshaft was shorter than the 6NZ crankshaft. Other than that...
Is there any differences between the NXS crankshaft compared to the 6NZ crankshaft? I know the stroke is longer on the NXS crankshaft but is that it?
Casting numbers are different, but cat did say the blocks are the same with the NXS block being a stronger block(thicker casting)
Any pictures of a piston that has been done?
[ATTACH] Let me make sure I'm getting this right, the .80 thousands comes off the hump in the center of the piston leaving a small flat spot?...
Has anyone had any problems milling .80 thousands off the tops of the pistons?
Fill plug is on the side of the transmission on the drivers side.
Thanks for the reply, and if you remember what the part# is for the heavy haul rings please let me know.
