Thanks for this info, only issue is the freightliner dealer has discontinued the replacement part. You have to purchase the entire tank.:(
This was my exact problem no air to anything on the the secondary tank. Bad internal check valve.
I believe your thinking about a Cummings engine, this is a Volvo D12.

Just had the the manual pump and the accessory drive replaced thinking they were bad, but it is the electric pump that’s not priming.
Having the same issue, I’m Looking for this fuse near the block, exactly where is it located?
