Truck route map does not mean 53 footers are legal. Look at size and weight restrictions.
53' trailers are not legal in NYC or 4 of the 5 bouroghs. The only legal route is 95 from Westchester/Bronx to 695 to 295 over Throgs Neck to 495.
The lower the number (number = feet), the tighter the truck will turn. Which is better depends on the type of work you are doing. Longer wheelbase...

It's people like you that keep the payscale in this industry in the crapper! It is not about being a trucker, it is about getting paid fairly.
From what I see on SAFER, 33% and the company gets shut down. Don't know if that's the way it actually is though.
What DOT site did you look at? If "SAFER"...run away NOW before you have a record to match!
