the fault codes are read by holding the resume/set switch on a cat so that is normal
cycle the key on and off 3 times and leave the key on for the last cycle then count the flashes of the light

I would check the main power wire from battery box to fuse box,there will be a big single wire plug between starter and valve cover right near top...

I have had the same problem on 3 trucks,its the plug on the firewall near the heater box on the inside of cab and its the top wire on the drivers...
they dont sell a mirror with the sensor in it anymore its part of the harness to the mirror and a whole lot CHEAPER!
