    Hey guys, I’m relatively new driver (about 9 months now) and I’ve been sitting all day without a load. My dispatch said it’s “slow freight” right now and will let me know once they get me a load. I’ve never heard anyone talk about “slow freight” so idk if they’re BS’ing me or are there times where there’s actually no freight? It’s hard to imagine there’s no loads out there... any insight would help, thanks.

    Depends on your freight type?
    Reefer, or van, or?
    There are slow weeks, months, and years, possible.
    But there biggest obstacle is competition.

    You may be in a bad spot.
    Or rates are too low for them to accept.
    Either way it’s highly believable.
    If you’re on a truck stop just check how many other trucks sit empty.

    I was thinking competition as well because I work for a small company. Only 250 trucks and that’s including dump trucks, wreckers, etc...

    Not many crops being harvested right now except for far south areas.
