Were you not one of those scolding 1.5 dol per mile haulers? If so, you predetermined already that it is too low. Yet you have audacity to tell me who I am.
How about I tell you that it is you with shortcomings because It will be me still doing what I am doing while you need a government bail outs. You applied for those, have you not?

Rubber duck kw, Midwest Trucker and 062 Thank this.

Why am I to be equated with all of you ELD happy individuals by the government?
These HOS regulations curb my productivity.
You dont want me to tell you what the fair brokers share ought to be then you dont get to tell me how many hours of rest I need either.
You see where I am getting at? -
whoopNride, larry2903 and Long FLD Thank this.

As far as I am concerned this goes against your no government involvement sentiment too.
The quicker they would've sunk, the sooner the rates would have improved.dosgatos Thanks this. -
1. HOS is for other peoples safety.
2. Pay regulations is to prevent someone from their own decisions.
Even if you don't agree with the regs, that's the reason. And HOS regs do save lives. Too many studies and statistics state otherwise. To say you are better, might be true, but it doesn't change the fact that as a group drivers need to HOS to save lives.
Also, if you don't want to work withing HOS, well... They have been around in some form for 70 years. Why did you even get in the industry with those restrictions if you hate them so much? -
I couldn’t care less what anyone else hauls for.
No bailouts for me.
43 years and doing just fine thank you. -
And your HOS argument is a moot point. You knew the regulations and responsibilities on you as a driver and as a carrier when you chose to start your business. Now that things aren’t working in your favor you want more rules or zero rules because that would benefit you. You are shortsighted in my opinion and can’t see the unintended consequences down the road. Let’s go five years from now and you get your 85/15 and you want to solicit your own business. Do you really think the shippers are going to give you the full rate they were paying the broker before or do you think they will pocket some because they know you’ve been moving the load for 85% of that? Or let’s say the rates are there for me and everyone else to see and people start knocking around your direct customers and low ball you because we all know what you’re making. And you’re right back where you started taking spot market loads.
There’s a huge difference in existing regulations and wanting more to benefit you.p608 and Midwest Trucker Thank this. -
Already antitrust laws or labour laws protecting you the driver.
How would you feel if your boss hired a foreign driver for 29 dollars a day?Last edited: Apr 26, 2020
