What I was told was QC bought the Schwerman "yard", office, and customer contract in Nashville. Frankly, before I started here I had never even heard the name Schwerman. A couple of their drivers work here now and they were union. I don't know if QC bought other Schwerman terminals or accounts. I *think* I have seen a couple of Schwerman trucks at truck stops I've been in, so I doubt Schwerman is gone, they are certainly gone from the Nashville Linder Industrial Ave location.

One of the drivers there was fired for a chemical spill. He went to Carry Transit in Decatur, Alabama and died while unloading. Had a massive heart attack and fell dead beside the trailer.
I went to the hospital in Huntsville to see him, but too late. He was on life support by then with no brain function at all.Last edited: Mar 26, 2019

Elogs evened the playing field for the junior drivers. Lots of sobbing and wailing, by the pet drivers, but to no avail.
They had drivers do a Houston turn with only a short couple of hour break, then grab another load heading to Phoenix or somewhere. This was on paper logs, so we really laughed when the paper logs became mandatory. One driver at another terminal crashed through a motel, killing him. A DOT audit saw what was going on and put the company on Elogs. DOT said Elogs or the whole company shuts down.Last edited: Mar 26, 2019
