BTW, LS required the hazmat endorsement, long before the background check was even thought of. But a troll working from ignorance, would not think of that point.

i got hazmat. the tanker and i got a twic also. just part of the deal, and another base covered. the hardest part of the hazmat , is when they do the manual prostate check with the rubber glove.
whoopNride, SHC and CAXPT Thank this. -
And the greatest part about being an American, is that It is your choice not to.

was leased on to mason and dixon lines for three months last year ......considering going back had an agent that i could run my own freight through and usually did pretty fair if it was a direct customer especially with the agents out of chicago ....plus the safety dept seemed quite reasonable

In Texas your license is good for 6-7 years and with a CDL you have to go in person first come first serve and takes all day it's really stupid I do have a TWIC card but I'm not dealing with hazmat
I did a load of rolled roofing a few weeks ago mercer and Landstar was moving them all I was the only not leased to them they had 4 buckets that needed placard I put them in my box and rolled outSHC Thanks this. -
FYI, after you start working for LS they do a full backgroung check on you, their dime.

If you are running under your own authority, I would be careful about hauling hazmat without the proper licensing.

4 buckets, probably did not need placarded, depending what it was. However, you get caught hauling hazmat without the proper authority and permits, it can put you out of business real quick.
Getting caught can be as simple as someone seeing you load hazmat, knowing you're bootlegging it and turning you in. -
Haznat may pay better and I used to have it before 911 and the fingerprinting. But there is enough other good paying loads without it. so more power to the one's that want to mess with it. I got twic, and tankers and doubles. Though I seem to do much better on oversize loads than any hazmat load and so much more fun to have beacon than another extra endoresment.

They said I didn't need hazmat but it needed to be placarded
