I'm in the Boston rail yard everyday now. Sometimes several times a day. During the last 4 months I have watched the number of Prime trailers coming in and going out increase dramatically. Just recently a train came in with nothing but brand new Prime Intermodal trailers. Let me tell you after hauling around the junk containers that I've been pulling around for the last 4 months I was chomping at the bit wishing that we had equipment like that. Robert had them all outfitted with the wind deflector skirts and all had 75 to 100 gallon fuel tanks on them. Class act that guy. It's just to bad that they are letting a private contractor make the deliveries and do the pick-ups instead of starting their own Itermodal fleet with some of the local guys up here that are starving for miles.
I for one haven't seen a slow down either this year IP. Intermodal is really busy and more shippers are jumping on board everyday.
.02 per mile raise and barely a peep

I'm not arguing with anyone just stating facts!!!!
If the truth hurts I'm sorry, but facts are facts. There are more Prime drivers hurting for miles right now then those on here posting that they are doing so well.
And my last disagreement on here was with IP not U2 so get your facts straight before commenting on any of my posts.
It's not about restricting miles it's all about to many drivers with not enough freight. -
It goes in cycles BC. Generally I've found that the guys who ALWAYS make their appointments, ALWAYS manage to get the job done with a minumum of hand holding, DON'T accumulate tickets - tend to get miles and lots of them. Generally speaking. And... the NE tends to have some slow times for us, but it's never been on a continual basis as far as I recall. I've seen times when they reposition the entire fleet out of the NE at the company's cost to take advantage of more abundant freight elsewhere.
So... have you also asked all of these hurting drivers how they do in those categories?
Just so you know, there's times I've taken a 34 up there waiting on a load out. -
No, can't say that I have asked all of them if they were dependable drivers or not. The driver that was sent home today for lack of freight is my neighbor and a personal friend and I do know that he has a great on-time record with them with both pick-ups and deliveries. But like U2 and yourself said before and something that I know first hand with Prime is your FM can make you or break you. Also most of the guys I talk to up here with the complaints are dispatched out of Pittston and run the NE regional.
-
If me bragging is just me being me, then it looks an awful lot like you while you worked at Prime...
hmmmm...BigCheese Thanks this. -
You were dispatched out of Pittston, so why arent you telling your friend to get himself switched to your old FM?

I dropped my last trainee off at the beginning of June. If you'd like, I could include those miles in my average, but it would probably be insensitive to those drivers on here who are suffering low miles and yet havent spoken up.
If anyone cared to listen to you they'd have to ban a few Prime drivers if stating your average weekly milage was insensitive... Someone came on here just yesterday and asked what the average milage Prime Reefer drivers here on the forum are running. He got a couple responses.
For sensitivity reasons Ive "x" out their milage. Wouldnt want to be insensitive to my fellow drivers who are suffering, who apparently appointed you their spokesperson, and who fail to reveal themselves with their problems on this forum.
I will let the other apologize for their insensitivity. I, however, will not.
Inquiring minds can click the quote and get the milages themselves. -
Get a backbone. You posted it, he quoted it. Its out there for all to read.BigCheese Thanks this.

My average for aug. Is 1700 mpw. Yes I run the northeast. It's slowwwwwww. I'm hearing that it picks back up in sep. We will see. Anyone else run the northeast from prime besides me? Anyone heading to the picnic this sat.? Hopefully I'll get in.
