please help help help
I have a freightlner Century 2000 with a Detroit engine 12.7.. My truck is running but it is turning the checking engine light on and off. when it turns on, the truck kind of cough (make a noise like going stop) but is something quick. i get some white smoke every time.. about 600 miles ago I have the fault code 128. but it went away, now this problem is more often. I think it may be like a wire or a fuse moving or something like that. can it be an injector?? What could the problem be??

You don't have EGR or any other thing that would make white smoke... Definite way to check is buy this cheap kit: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000NPDL76/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
if liquid turns yellow or green you definitely have leaking engine. If you have dying engine, put this in your coolant: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000KKND3Q/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
its real cheap. You wanna put like 6 pellets in every 1000 miles. Absolutely do everything you can to not push the truck. Try to take it easy on the engine (light loads, avoid mountains if you can)... If leaky engine you can probably squeeze 50k to 100k more miles out of it.dianeliz09 Thanks this. -
Is your truck a 2000 or 2004 .??
Is it a egr engine or not?? -
-
No , if you read the post tittle it says 2004. If you read his post it says 2000.
So what is it??? -
I would say its a 2000 because the OP is from 2009 and from a different member. Love it when 7 year old threads get revived lol.

Wut the..........
Lol now it makes sence.
Didn't even notice that.
In that case being that it's a pre egr engine and he's getting check engine lights , I'm willing to bet it's an injector or harness issue.AModelCat Thanks this. -

hi
I am having an issue with my 2008 volvo d12 engine
getting coolent in the expension tank when it worms up. I changed the air compressor last week thinking that was the problem, also the egr cooler os deleted so no coolent goes true it.
The engine was tested for cobustion gasses and it came back negative.
When i turn on the heater i can hear bubbles moving and that noise comes from the right side of the truck
What could this be if the test is negative for head gasket or cracked head??
Please help
