I have an 05 volvo VNL.

I know a lot have talked about this in different forums but i am not sure if it changes by year of the truck and i have not see them all in one spot and some contradict each other.

I changes my tires to taller tires and switched all my air bags and ride height valves.

So how do i reset the rear ride height, front axle ride height and cab height? I have read volvo has a different procedure then most semi trucks so i want to make sure i get solid info using my truck year and make.

After contacting more shops then i can count i was told

-ride height for the front does not matter ride preference.
-cab is very specific but he had no detail only the bar coming off the value should be about 90 degrees?
    - rear is based off frame rail size will post when i get it

How does this sound to everyone? The front has no set height does not sound right?

Levelling valves will typically always be at 90 degrees, that's normally their neutral point. The length of the rod determines what the actual ride height will be.

(Distance from the bottom of the frame to the ground) - (distance from the center of the axle to the ground) = ride height

If frame height = 10.5", then ride height should be 7.75-8.5"
If frame height = 11.75", then ride height should be 7.0-7.75"

If you change tire size, you shouldn't need to adjust the ride height if it was correct before. If it causes you to add 1" to the center axle measurement, it will also add 1" to the distance to the ground, which results in the same ride height after calculations. Your driveline angles will also be unchanged.

    Siinman Thanks this.
