Hello to everyone and thanks in advance for any help...
Long story short... i just purchased this truck with this problem.
The issue... after starting truck, 2 messages popping out - Check ECU at the next stop, Check LCM at the next stop... when i’m turning lights on, they working only on first position (parking lights with markers etc), on second position all light disappear outside and inside on dashboard, dimer is not working, no turn signals at any time, no hazard light.
I can read codes in LCM diagnostics ONLY with parking lights on. If all lights are off or switch is on headlights position i got message “Operation Failed” after 15 seconds of waiting.
    The active codes:
MID 216 PSID 40 FMI 4 Power Supply, Ignition Key in driving position
MID 216. PSID 8 FMI 5 Reverse Lamp Low Current or open circuit.
So far I changed and checked:
    -New light switch
    -New ignition switch
    -New battery’s
    -All Fuses are good
-All relays looks good and they are clicking when turning lights on.
-I disconnect battery’s for hours to reset LCM , didn’t help
-I connected jump cables from battery to ground on firewall... still the same.

I have 2007 Volvo with D12 engine, so can i swap LCM just to check if that will help or it have to be reprogrammed??
I working on this problem for last 2 days and I can’t find any problem...

    Any ideas???

Swapping LCM will not work. Each one programmed for each vehicle. "check LCM" is general term used by Volvo of that era to let you know you have a lighting problem. Very rare that LCM is bad.

    Goodysnap Thanks this.
