I have an '07 D16 and was wondering if there is a way to delete it or shut it off some how with
out having issues???
I see there pics of guys putting steel plugs in the silicone hose on the D12's but the D16 I have has an all steel line that looks like it pushes into the block??
Anyone have experience with these???

Send Rebel127 a PM if anyone can help he will be your man. Might want to take a look at these http://www.egrtuner.com/ I don't know if it will work on a DD16. Also PDI and PP used to do them but since the EPA has cracked down on them I'm not sure about them either.

I believe in Volvo section, OP is talking about Volvo D16, not Detroit DD16.

Yes the Volvo D16 engine.

In '07, the 16D had a MAF sensor on the EGR. It measures exhust flow. In my xp working at a dealer, I've seen that it will cause an active MAF fault... but no derate. The newer engines (D16F) will cause a power limitation after a certain amount time. FYI.. The fellas that "plugged" off the egr did it by means of a steel plate in the place of a gasket between the egr valve and the exhaust manifold. If you can live with the active fault, may be worth trying.
