The contact is through the owner of the dealership. He says there is a 3X markup on tractors (ie 40K invoice=120K sticker) typicall price for a new tractor
I'd get my own authority, no need to lease for 40K. Last I heard in Sept. it was a new truck truck but again not too many 09's were rolling then.
The contact is through a family member so I don't know the specs. It is a Class 8 tractor though not a smaller truck.

Well the contact is through a family member that has known a pete dealership owner for years. The owner says there is a 3X markup on tractors (ie: 40K invoice = 120K sticker) typical cost for a new tractor

Your famy member is pulling your chain. There isn't a 300% markup on trucks. Go sell that story to the tooth fairy.

(Sorry for the repost above, didn't think it went through the first time)

Regardless of the markup, the truck is still 45K. I appreciate all the feedback, jokes and all.
If the markup isn't that much, what is the invoice for a 387 or 386? If the mpg wasn't so bad I'd go for the 389.

Typical markup between dealer cost and retail is usually somewhere in the $20-35,000 range, dependent upon the make and model and the trim levels.
