Hi Guys,
I have a 2009 4400 with a Maxforce 9 motor that has developed a problem. When I turn the key on all of the usual alarms and lights come on. I can hear what sounds like two pumps running and when they go off the brake and ABS lights go off. I can then drive the truck (it's a converted ambulance I use to tow my race car) about 10 miles before all the brake / ABS warning lights come on and the alarm sounds. The brakes work fine but the alarm is pretty annoying. I searched on line and found the ABS Module, but at $2,700 I'm hesitant to change it if it's something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Brad

Step one is to get it scanned and see what the code is.

Is there a scanner you recommend? I have the standard automotive scanner, but (as I am sure you know) it doesn't work in the 4400. Wouldn't mind having one if I could get one at a reasonable deal. If not, I'll take it by the shop tomorrow. Thanks

I'm a dealership tech. We use Panasonic Toughbook laptops with A-Com for Bendix and Meritor Toolbox software for Wabco. As for 3rd party scanners, since I don't use them, I really can't tell you what's good and not.

So I had the codes read and it said I had 74 counts of 57-5. We checked the connectors and they look okay. We are thinking the HPB is bad. Sucks, this vehicle only has 48,000 miles.

Hydraulic Park brake? What is 57-5? I do not have that in my list.
