I've got 2009 prostar every year same problem. Ac works fine for about 15 minutes then starts to blow hot air. Can't stop the hot air either. If I turn the engine switch of and restart it the ac will work for another 15 minutes then blow hot again . My international dealer has changed everything

Heavy , Thanks for your help in the past trying to get my brother's lone star's ac fixed . His team mate found the best way to fix it. Hit a tree at 70mph.

Do NOT do this. Heater core is part of the cooling system and needs to circulate coolant. Closing it off will also cause it to rot out in a hurry.

This is an excess high pressure side high pressure shut off. First get the new thermistor kit with the updated thermistors and the heat shrink tubing . Follow the directions to the letter! If the tech gets offended about being required to follow the bulletin directions tell him to gtf away from your truck. Recharge the system with 2.5 pounds of freon, NOT 3 pounds.

Be anal about changing your cowl and bunk HVAC filters weekly in the summer and less frequently in the winter.
