Not just diesel but all fuels. The world oil prices are the lowest in years. Demand is way down around the world because of the coronavirus. Saudi Arabia tried to get Russia to cut their output and Russia said no. Putin is trying to destroy the US oil market. He won't succeed. It will slow for a while but eventually bounce back. In the mean time, it will suck to work in the oil industry on the rigs or as a driver.

It is. That happened over the weekend. Saudi and Russia failed to come to an agreement on production levels so saudi responded with scorched earth style retaliation. They basically declared economic war on opec+ nations. They've said they will open up pumping to maximum capacity (an additional 3 million barrels per day) and lower sale price. No one can produce oil cheaper than saudi or the quantity they can.

So you get this part of it. Now please explain to me why you insist this is bad for the us economy as a whole, not just the oil industry.

It’s a fluke. NASTC is typically .03-.04 higher except at Pilot and Loves. I’m leaving Landstar after 10 1/2 years. It’s not the same company. I would not recommend it to anyone but a super specialized hauler that is bringing their trailer. The nice thing is you can get those same LS fuel discounts off you use their quick pay.

Yeah, but quick pay comes at a cost of about 2% or 3% of the load. Other brokers also have some decent fuel discounts, but that may mean hauling for them almost exclusively.

Holy cow, did you even read that article before posting it? That article is about the saudi crown prince and his power grab inside the royal family. The only mentions of the economy is "disruptor, uncertain" and that saudi is hosting the g20 summit. That headline is pure click bait.

It's probably changed but back when I'd broker loads from landstar, they only charged the 2 dollar comdata fee to upload your settlement vs send a paper check.

Right now all the brokers I have allow for the invoice, POD, and signed rate con to be done through email. Only one broker has requested that I send only the POD by mail.
