I strongly discourage any possibility tempting to get involved in off dock selling or buying of say smokes. The first thing you need to examine is the state tax revenue sticker being present at the bottom. If it is, good to go. If it is NOT? WALK... no RUN.

If you guys all cave when they say driver responsible or that they refuse to sign the bol, get it off the truck.
We have caught shippers shorting loads before, the truck sits in the dock until the bol is signed or it is taken off and the company is charged with the tonu.
What you all are forgetting is the bol is a legal document that gives them the right to make a claim against you, and if you don't make sure that is accurate. It costs you. Get a few of these loads and your insurance will start asking questions and they will tell you the same thing, cover your ***** no matter what.dog-c Thanks this. -

I have been to places that don't let you on the dock and don't let you write SLC. When I was a company driver, my company didn't want us on the dock. They are big and can afford good lawyers. I either put SLC or am on the dock and make them show me everything! They either let me write SLC or off the truck it goes! I can't afford to pay for math challenged warehouse workers!
DSK333 Thanks this.
