1 Trailer hub running 15° hotter?

    Yeah, I told the service writer if they couldn't find anything to rebuild it, but apparently I should have specified using new parts :biggrin_25526:

    Tires/brakes are the same temp as the others so I guess uneven weight/alignment are not likely.

    temp differentials like you are experiencing shout problem somewhere for sure... I too use an ir gun to check tires..hubs.. and many other problem areas on my truck... great time saver ... but same as you ..with pressures same cold.. new spindle.. bearings whatever,.. there are always going to be different temp readings, a few degrees. but yeah, with that big a difference at that one position, there is an obvious problem. I'll stay tuned to see what you find. Good luck!

    I have to say you're attention to detail is impressive. How many drivers would ever notice that....one in 500? Most wouldn't even know until after it caught fire.
