Do you know anything about the flatbed division?
-
Absolutely zero. Sorry I cannot help there.
-
Just a little over a year

I got a question for you, I went to FFE driving academy last year but didn't complete it because I left. I wasn't impressed with the training, I felt like they didn't prepare you it was only 11 days on the range in the truck. I didn't feel it was safe. Should I tell my recruiter about it? Or should not say anything.
Thanks -
Most schools prepare you to take the CDL test, you learn to drive later. Eleven days isn't bad, in my school we did about 8 days with between 2 and 3 students in the class. The number of days isn't always as important as the number of students in the class and the number of trucks and instructors. If you have 20 days on the range but that time is divided between 20 (or more) students it still isn't much time.
Community colleges usually give you more behind the wheel time. -
Yeah true, but I had 30 people in my class.
-
But should I tell swift about that or leave it alone
-
Tell them EVERYTHING. If you don't and they find out about something, you can always be let go for "Falsification of application"

Thanx for the thread Popeye. I had a casual conversation with a Swift lady driver at the local Cracker Barrel. She has been OTR for 18 years, the past 14 with Swift as a dry van hauler. She is happy with them and with her new 2013 rig. I probably won't be going with Swift, but realize that it's a great choice for many drivers.
Trucking Popeye Thanks this.
